No-one could accuse my Grandma of under catering. Bridge rolls, crudites, bamba, cream cakes, 2 birthday cakes, ice cream cones, fruit….
I had carrots, several bridge rolls with egg and tuna and smoked salmon, a little of each of the cakes, mango, watermelon, no ice cream. It’s been nearly 30°C here which is unheard of. The kids are now in bed and I treated myself one of M’s birthday cupcakes (Chocolate cake with strawberry icing). I also finished off the last few bits of sushi.
Many many thanks to Anonymous Mann (who is a female friend) for her encouraging texts this evening which has made me get off the couch and throw this salad together before collapsing back into it.
I feel like I’ve fallen off plan with all the rubbish I’ve eaten today.
Looks like you are back on the straight and narrow now. Tea was delicious and so plentiful – you did very well (I did sit next to you at the table) and had the same portion of cakes as you that was a thin slice of each cake – so you were very much in control. Lots of love and hugs Daddy xx

I’m finding it hard to choose the right words for today. I guess I did my best to make the afternoon more diet user friendly. I suppose the best I can offer is one day at a time. Well done to the friend who proposed a salad for supper. I am trying hard to roast vegetables most days so that there are some in the fridge ready for the next meal. Also I freeze as much of leftover temptation as possible so that it is not quite as quick a fix when I am searching for a “treat”. ( or tape down with sellotape).Admittedly all these valiant efforts mean I stay the same weight rather than lose at the moment but it’s still better than putting on – at least that’s what I tell myself. If that’s at all helpful take heed. If not ignore xx

I had meant to write in the post as above these you (My Mum) had provided some really healthy options, carrot sticks, mango, watermelon and I was so grateful for that. But there was no way I could have not eaten some of the other things on the table without upsetting Grandma. Thank you so much for doing what you can to help me. Xxx

It sounds like you had a lovely tea and I think we’re all allowed to step off the plan from time to time. The important thing is to step right back on it and you’ve done that with your salad.
